Settling In

Well hi there!

It's been a while since I've shared a life update with y'all. And man, how things have changed since moving into my college apartment!

It has been a more drastic adjustment than I anticipated to return to Williamsburg and begin all of my classes virtually. Beyond the woes of sticking to my mostly asynchronous schedule, I've also had to navigate living in my own space for the first time, cooking for myself and being off the meal plan, and the stress of being in a college town during this pandemic.

So far, I am really happy with my classes! I am graduating a semester early, next December, so I'm in the homestretch of requirements for both my majors. I am so glad that I chose to pursue two programs that I'm passionate about and find interesting, otherwise a 16 credit-hour full of required classes would be a lot less bearable!

Having my own space has been a game changer. As I stay mindful of my health and risk for COVID-19, being able to control who is in my space, and who I come into contact with, has prevented so much unnecessary stress. Decorating my space and making it my own has also been so fun! I love this spot over my bed, featuring some DIY prints (the larger frame is leftover wrapping paper, and the two smaller prints are actually wallpaper samples!)

Each semester, I try to be intentional about setting goals for the months ahead of me. Outside of striving towards good performance in my classes, I think this is such an important way to pursue creative projects, and to look back and feel like you accomplished something, no matter how small it may seem. Some of my goals are as follows:

- Be intentional about staying in touch with friends, near and far. One way I've decided to do this is find safe (and fun) ways to see friends, socially distanced and wearing masks outdoors. I am also starting to send more letters! If you'd like a letter, please message me or comment below. I would love to write more people!

-Read the Bible in a year. This is something I've wanted to do for years- and I've finally committed to doing it! I will be using my She Reads Truth bible, and this Bible study to go along with my daily readings.

-Challenge myself to cook more exciting things! I'm happy to say that I've already experimented with new recipes, like Chicken Marsala and the recipes that have come in my HelloFresh subscription box.

If you are a goal-setter like me, what are your goals and intentions for this fall? I would love to hear!

This semester, I'm looking forward to sharing posts more frequently on Living Lovely. Get excited for outfit inspiration, book reviews, and more coming soon to my lovely little corner of the internet! If you haven't already, make sure you sign up for emails so you don't miss a post.
