Living Lovely 2020 Gift Guide

Greetings, fellow gift-buying procrastinators!

The holiday season is quickly approaching, although it seems as though we're still stuck in March 2020. My love language is gift-giving, and I have adored picking out the perfect presents for family & friends this season! There is a wealth of small and Black-owned businesses that deserve your support when buying and ordering gifts this year. Read on for my favorite picks for the special people in your life!

For Classic, Elevated #WorkFromHome Style

Is there anything better and more life affirming than looking stylish in your Zoom meetings? Here are my picks for gals who are keeping it (business) casual.

The Nap Dress is having its moment right now! A frock that feels like a nightgown, this is the most comfortable piece you can have in your wardrobe. The Nesli (pictured) has amazing puff sleeves and feels like wearing a comforter (I'm not kidding).

Certain styles + colors are in stock for Christmas delivery. Use my referral link for $20 off your first order! Https://fbuy.io/hhh/olivia932

Everlane is an ethically sourced and manufactured clothing company, with the utmost transparency on their products and pricing. I love this cashmere henley, and would pair it with a turtleneck underneath!

I also adore their selection of denim and wardrobe staples.

My screen-time reports from Apple have been nothing short of shameful this year. For the person in your life who is always staring at a screen, consider gifting a cute and practical pair of blue light glasses! They come with a bonus of making you look smarter, too ;)

For Your Favorite Bookworm

The joy of winter break for me has been ample free time to dive into new reads! I am honored to include two recent books from my dear friends on this list of books to gift this holiday season.

My dear friend Steph Whitacre recently debuted her first novel, and I could not be more proud of her! As I sat down this evening to write this blog post, I finally received my copy in the mail. The Lost Library is a story of loss, love, and family. I cannot wait to dig into this labor of love!

After a week-long post-final exam break, I picked up the American Royals series. It may be my fascination with the British royal family speaking, but I could not put this book down! I read American Royals and the sequel in fewer than two days. These books are full of drama, reckoning, silliness, and love, with family and history tying it all together. This would make a perfect gift for anyone loving The Crown!

Good Enough: Learning to Let Go of Perfect for the Sake of Holy is a marvel. My lovely friend Wendi (can we take a moment to appreciate the talent and way with words my friends have?!) published Good Enough this fall. Good Enough is a letter of welcoming and a sense of belonging to any Christian who has found themselves at war with themself and for those who have battled OCD. Wendi's powerful words and testimony will inspire courage in your own life.

On my to-read list, The Vanishing Half is a critically acclaimed novel following the different stories and lives of identical twin sisters and their daughters. You can't go wrong with gifting this to anyone on your list! (image credit: INSTYLE)

Small Finds for Everyone

These classic finds will spark joy for any person on your Christmas list.

The Tiny Tassel is a Black-owned small business based in Charleston, South Carolina. I adore Mimi, the founder, and every product she puts out there! I am especially loving these gorgeous beaded bow earrings that come in a variety of colors.

Rifle Paper Company is one of my go-to's for holiday gifts for anyone. Female owned and founded, they have branched out from stationary to now offer home goods, accessories, and more. They recently released these gorgeous stemless glasses with gold floral detailing- I'm obsessed! I also love their fabric bound journals, phone cases, and hair accessories!

Etsy is a fantastic way to discover new goods and to #ShopSmall every season. I stumbled across these beautiful handprinted floral mugs and fell in love with the design and craftsmanship! I am also coveting this personalized ring, and this Cardigan sticker for any and all Taylor Swift fans.

Margaux has become my new go-to for flats, mules, and espadrilles. They recently released these gorgeous Cashmere slippers, with the cutest bow detailing!

For the fancy lady in your life, consider gifting one of their classic silhouettes, like the Linen Mule, or the Demi ballet flat.

The final gift on my Living Lovely gift guide is the Best Sellers Kit by the Laundress. To make doing laundry feel like a luxurious event, consider gifting any of their gift sets! Their products are great for even your most delicate wool, denim, and silk.

I use the Signature Detergent and Delicate Wash. I also love the Wool & Cashmere shampoo- a perfect stocking stuffer!

I hope you enjoyed perusing through my picks for gifting this year. For a gift that can never go out of style and will always make the recipient smile, consider making a donation to a charitable cause in that person's name. The Loveland Foundation is an organization devoted to uplifting and supportingBlack women and girls, and they have a therapy fund. This is a great way to make a difference in others lives, and to gift meaningfully this season.
